Bay Survey

Terry's trigonometric test:
Pythagoras' theorem, we all had to learn this at school: "on a right angled triangle the square of the hypotenuse is always equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides", or something like that. None of us in my class had the foggiest what it meant at the time, but the teacher would have written it on the blackboard like this: hypotenuse2 = Side 'A' width2 + Side 'B' width2.

A _ B | C \ - Look at the A B and C and think of them as parts of a bay.

Come to that, the C could be the roof length of a lean to conservatory (add overhang + into gutter).

Enter your measured sizes for both 'A' and 'B' to produce the measure of the angle 'C' (the hypotenuse).

Entering sizes in any combination of two boxes will produce the size for the box you left blank.

Only enter sizes in TWO boxes as it is unlikely that you will have all of the correct figures to enough decimal places.

For the accuracy necessary for getting bays right (+ or - 1 mm) it is best to enter sizes in millimeters)

hypotenuse2 = 1st side2 + 2nd side2
